Senior Coaching Panel 2017/18

On behalf of the Committee of the Taylors Lakes Cricket Club, I am pleased to announce that for the 3rd consecutive season we will once again have the Coaching Panel structure in place. The last 2 seasons have shown that the Coaching Panel structure is the best solution for a club of our size. I am pleased to announce that Paul Thomas has been appointed into the role of Senior Coach for the 2017/18 season. This will be Paul's second stint as Coach, following his successful tenure at the club during the significant 3 consecutive Luscombe Shield premierships in the 2006 /07, 2007/08 and 2008/09 seasons. Paul brings a wealth of Sub District cricket experience to the role.

Paul will have 3 Assistant Coaches in 2017/18, John Markham will return as batting coach, and will act as mentor to our transitional players (eg the junior players transitioning from Under 16's into seniors ranks), Dilan Chandima has been appointed as Fielding Coach, Dilan will be in his fourth year at Taylors Lakes, and will focus on improving our fielding. And Imran Khan joins us from Tasmanian club Summerleas Eagles, where he was captain of their 2015/16 1st XI premiership side. Imran will be the bowling coach, and will act as mentor to our development players (Under 23's). Mick Stephens continues in the role as Net Manager, and Paul Wolf continues in the role of Chairman of Selectors.

I would like to congratulate the entire Coaching Panel on their respective appointments and extend a very warm TLCC welcome to Imran.

I am really confident that the Coaching Panel will hold us in good stead for our 2nd season in the VSDCA.

Indoor training is now only 6 weeks away, so I look forward to seeing you all at training throughout August and September. It is essential that we hit the ground running in our 2nd season in the VSDCA, so that we can build on our performances from our inaugural season. I would like to strongly encourage all players to join pre season training as soon as possible.

On behalf of the Committee and players, I would also like to thank Kris McMullin for his tireless effort as Senior Coach over the past 2 seasons, not only did he play his 300th game for the club last season, he was also our first VSDCA coach and led the 1st XI into the finals in the Lakers inaugural Sub District season. He has stepped down after 2 years in the top job to spend more time with his young family. We also extend our thanks to senior co-ordinator, Glen Jones, who has resigned following a 2 year stint for personal reasons. We wish both of you the best for the year ahead and look forward to seeing both of you throughout the season for a quiet beer and a good game of cricket.

Rob Arnold, Club Chairman
